Kaga Yubinuki

Yubinuki is a sewing tool (thimble) used in Kanazawa area with long history from Edo period (15th century). Kaga was one of the successful and rich administration districts in Edo period and created various luxurious craftworks. Among them was Kimono made of silk. Kaga Yubinuki was made of silk threads which come from Kimono making (left over). The core is paper ring and colorful silk threads are layered with specific patterns.
